  The Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) has launched its maiden Students’ Work Experience Programme (SWEP) for second-year engineering students. The initiative, hailed by the university as a strategic move to boost the resourcefulness of its engineering programs, aims to seamlessly blend academic theory with real-world technical skills. At the flag-off exercise on Tuesday, 9th September 2025, at the University Lecture Theatre, Ikot Abasi, FUTIA's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Leo Daniel, a distinguished Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics, highlighted the program's significance.
